Does salt make me gain weight?

Whole grains are better sources of fiber and other nutrients like magnesium, potassium, and sclenium than refined grains. Eating whole grains can: Keep your heart healthy, reduce your risk for certain cancers, help maintain blood sugar levels, and help maintain a regular digestive system.

According to The American Dietetic Association, everyone, including kids, should reduce their sodium intake to less than 2,300 milligrams of sodium a day (about 1 teaspoon of salt). Adults who are 51 and older, individuals with high blood pressure, diabetes, or chronic kidney disease should further reduce their sodium intake to 1,500 mg a day.

Should I excercise while dieting?

According to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ physical activity guidelines, adults should participate in at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity aerobic physical activity per week, including at least two days of muscle-strengthening activities. While exercising up to 300 minutes per week has even greater health benefits.

Do I need to take protein supplements?

While protein needs in endurance and resistance athletes are greater than in non-athletes, they are not as high as commonly perceived.

Most athletes can get the recommended amount of proteins through a balanced diet. However, protein supplements are sometimes needed for their convenience, practicality and high-quality proteins provision. The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics recommended protein intake based on body weight and only a dietitian can assist you to design a meal plan which provides you the exact amount of protein your body need, without falling in the excess trap.

Should I avoid carbohydrates all together?

In a world where popular fads often speak louder than science, carbs have become amongst the most avoided nutrients in weight loss diets. But Diet Delights will prove, through its balanced meal plan, that carbohydrates are also part of a healthy diet even when you are trying to lose weight, when chosen wisely and eaten in adequate amounts. In fact, carbohydrates should account for 50-60 of the calories you eat. Choose healthy carbohydrate sources like quinoa, bulgur, whole grain cereals and fruits and limit your consumption of simple sugar to less than 10 of your daily caloric intake.

I feel that my metabolism is slow, will I still be able to lose weight?

It’s not unusual to hear people blame their weight gain on a slow metabolism. More often than not, the reason they are putting on weight is because they are eating and drinking more calories than they are burning. So staying on top of the number of calories you eat is key to losing weight and keeping it off.

Why is my breakfast important?

Besides Exercise, sleep, breakfast is the most important means to charge your energy. Studies have shown that a breakfast that does the brain work, specifically memory. In addition, people who miss breakfast to accumulate excess weight more than people who drank regularly tended.

In contrast, breakfast eaters tend to make healthy food choices than those taken by the Mvuto breakfast, as they eat smaller portions during the day, which will positively affect their weight and their health in the long run. Can I still drink coffee and tea when following Diet Delights meal plan?

Teas, herbal infusions and coffee are calorie-free when they don’t contain sugar, creamer or milk. However, if you consume your tea or coffee with add-ons, you are asked to inform your dietitian so that calories added are accounted for. 2-3cups of brewed or drip coffee per day or 5 servings of tea is considered an average or moderate amount of caffeine for most people.
